2- Coring Consultancy and Services:

• Core Laboratory Designing and Construction

• Coring Analysis Equipments

3- Core Analysis Services:

• Geological Services:

• Laboratories Services:

Our affiliation with labs in Calgary, Canada is to perform following analysis on drill cuttings and core samples. Most of the analyses are proposed by us for our clients as per the project requirements. We also take care all lab analysis at our end without our client being directly involved with the lab work, unless they may opt otherwise.

• X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF):

Using an intense XRF spectrometer beam focused on the sample, some of the energy is scattered and some is absorbed depending upon the sample’s chemistry. The resulting fluorescent X-rays are used to determine:

  • The elemental composition
  • Analyse major and critical trace elements in core and cuttings
  • Establish facies trends
  • Ascertain contamination issues
  • ‘Fingerprint’ geological zones

• X-RAY DIFFRACTION (XRD):

We provide XRD services for measuring the intensity of x-rays which are diffracted into wave patterns by the atoms in the crystals compounds (mineral). This allows for identification of mineralogical composition define clay components establish facies trends determine brittleness.

• SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (SEM):

SEM characterizes materials at very high resolution. This allows for more comprehensive understanding of hydrocarbon reservoirs.

  • Observe a minute and solid specimen, or complex surface topography
  • Provide a three dimensional image
  • Visualize porosity and permeability
  • Aid in pore-throat mineralogy evaluation
  • Determine microscopic structural relationships

• PETROGRAPHY:

Rock analysis in thin-section through a petrographic microscope yields chemical and physical features of a particular sample. Petrographic studies  provide detailed descriptions consisting of:

  • Framework mineralogy
  • Diagenetic minerals
  • Cements and events
  • Allochems
  • Facies determination
  • Conventional petrophysical properties

• BIOSTRATIGRAPHY:

Studying the microfossil distribution in rocks which determines the chronostratigraphic correlation of sequences and facies.

  • Chronostratigraphic dating to confirm mineral rights.
  • High resolution for precise correlation.
  • Biofacies analysis for depositional modelling.

• Unconventional & Tight Reservoirs:

Knowing unconventional reservoir petrophysical properties; Porosity and Permeability are quite challenging. To determine these properties in tight Reservoirs of less than 0.1mD permeability following methodology has been adopted by Department of Geoscience at University of Calgary in Alberta. We have our lab affiliation to get all those analysis done for our customers in the research lab and take advantage of continuously evolving methods.

Following analyses are the key component to evaluate the potential of these reservoirs:

Rock-Eval Pyrolysis, Vitrinite Reflectance, Grain Size,  Crushed-Rock Gas (He) Permeability, Low-Pressure N2 Adsorption, Low-Pressure Co2 Adsorption, Bulk & Grain Densities (cm scale analysis on cuttings or core samples), Profile Permeability, Apparent Pulse Decay Gas Permeability ad Steady State Gas(N2) Permeability
